Victor Coello
Dr. Victor Coello was born in Tampico, Tamaulipas Mexico, the 9th of September, 1972. He is now coordinator of CICESE, Monterey Unit. He has a Ph.D in Physics from the Institute of Physics of the University of Aalborg in Denmark and has been involved in the nanotechnology research for over 20 years. Dr. Coello has a broad expertise in experimental and theoretical investigations within nano-optics and plasmonics, including subwavelength (linear and non-linear) localization phenomena in random metal nanostructures, Near-field optical microscopy of evanescent waves, and characterization of advanced plasmonic devices. Dr. Coello has published over 45 internationally peer-reviewed journal papers and 8 in-extensive summaries with international arbitration. His research work has been recognized with more than 420 citations to his publications.
He has been directly responsible for around 15 scientific projects and various technological consulting services. Dr. Coello has supervised 6 PhD theses and 3 postdoctoral projects. He is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level 2) and holds a permanent Senior Researcher position at CICESE-Center which is located at the Research and Technological Innovation Park in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He is currently the general coordinator of CICESE Monterrey.
